Skegness 33kV Substation, Lincolnshire
Western Power Distribution (WPD) have decided to build a new brick built switch room to replace the existing ’weather beater’ style construction at Skegness 132/33V Substation. The works required were to undertake the installation and jointing of onsite EHV cables (both permanent and interconnection works) & the circuit transfers.
The works were successfully completed on time & budget.
Scope:
- · Installation of 7 x sets of 3 33kv 400mm separable connectors
- · Installation of 7 x sets of 3 33kv Euromold surge arresters
- · Installation of 4 x sets of 3 33kv 630mm size 3 pfisterer inner cone plug terminations
- · Installation of 2 x sets of 3 33kV size 3 pfisterer inner cone dummy plugs
- · Installation of 1 x sets of 3 33kv single core transitional straight joints (1c H Type PILC – 1c EPR)
- · Installation of 1 x sets of 3 33kv single core 400mm XLPE straight joints (XLPE – XLPE)
- · Installation of 5 x 33kv transitional Trifurcating joints (3c H type PILC – 3x 400mmm EPR)
- · Installation of 6 x sets of 3 33kv single core 630mm XLPE straight joints (XLPE – XLPE)
- · Supply & installation of cable management within the cable basement
- · Site supervision / standby & project management for all contracted works
- · Excavation & reinstatement of all trenches & joint bays
- · Installation of 7 x 3 phase sets of 400mm EPR 33Kv feeder Circuits
- · Installation of 4 x 3 phase sets of 630mm EPR 33Kv Grid Transformer Circuits
- · Provision of marked up as built drawings For Installed Cable Routes
